DAYTON/COLUMBUS VISITS

Since March, 1970, the Dayton and Columbus chapters of
Philoptochos have been visiting each other to celebrate the name day of their churches. Both churches are named annunciation, and the Philoptochos chapters itinerant hosting a dinner each year. On March 26, 1986, the Columbus chapter held a big dinner for the Dayton group. The entertainment for the evening was a fashion show of regional Greek costumes.

Ladies who prepared the tables for the dinner were, L. to R.: Sue Spantithos, Fashion Show Narrator Diana Synadinos, Josie Chase, Sue Bouzounis, Mary Metro, Marika Gagas, Georgia Katris, Vangie Michaelides, Mary Leonidakis, Tina Mamais, Mary Ikimis, Becky Christman, Carol Zanetos, Phyllis Yankulov.

EPITAPHION

An activity that is lovingly done each Good Friday is the decorating of the Epitaphion. Ladies of the Philoptochos work together placing hundreds of fresh flowers on the bier for the evening service. This photoshows the completed work on Good Friday, 1986.

VASILOPITA

Another annual event hosted by the Philopto-chos is the cutting of the Vasilopita. As Fr. Sarris called the names of the recipients, the 1983 co-President, Josie Chase handed out the pieces of bread. Accepting a
